My grandmother, Dorothy LaRue, was such an inspiration to me. She sure was a firecracker….full of spunk!!!! Many of my fondest memories from childhood include her. I began helping her bake bread, cinnamon rolls, and apple dumplings (one of her signature desserts) for as far back as I can remember. She had nine children, so she had plenty of practice in the kitchen! I only have 2 children myself, but I AM a stay-at-home mom who does what I can to make it easier on my family budget wise. So, this blog will contain mostly cost effective, little waste, and creative ideas for you and your family.

The recipes and ideas are not all from Dorothy LaRue, however, she truly inspired me to put love into everything that comes out of my kitchen. I hope to share that love with you guys.Although she passed away many years ago, I often think of her while I am cooking. I put on some music (just like she did) and immerse myself in one of my greatest passions.
